If Twitter is the platform for journalists, Instagram is the hotbed of all design dialogues. The medium — with its focus on visuals — and descriptive hashtags allows creatives to engage with their patrons better than any other medium.
Naturally, then, we were curious to find which Indian fashion brands / designers use the social networking platform the best. The focus is on aesthetics, not the number of followers or the frequency of posts.
Nappadori
Using their suitcases as a perfect metaphor to the adage, that all life is a travel, the brand places its leather suitcases at prominent spots all over the world. The result: a visual delight!
431-88 by Shweta Kapur
To promote its collection titled Misfits, the brand showcased aesthetic shots of women in badass clothes. Of course, all credit goes to Vogue here, for conceptualizing the shoot. But full marks for the editorialized shots that surface time and again on their account.
Shweta Malhotra
Okay so not exactly a fashion account per se, but artist Shweta Malhotra lends her superb designing skills for the cause of fashion, oh-so-cutely, that we couldn’t resist!
Tarun Tahiliani
The ace designer’s account reflects a deep love for Indian aesthetics. Such fine clothes, beautiful shots.. no wonder then that the label has 148,000 followers, and counting.
Gauri and Nainika
Their deep love for classicism and feminine silhouettes is written all over their Instagram feed.

Flowers on Oxfords? You have us sold! Another thing we really like about this account is that it shows you the details just along the outfit, so you know that all great outfits are actually the result of tiny details!
