This rich, buttery, creamy chicken dish needs no introduction. Probably the best known of all Indian delicacies; a staple at most Indian restaurants, this north Indian curry has made its place in every corner of the world. Here is an easy-to-make restaurant-style ‘Butter Chicken’ recipe.
Ingredients:
For Marinate:
- 700gms Raw Chicken
- 500gms Curd
- 1tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
For Sauce:
- 5-6 Garlic Cloves
- 2-3Green Chillies
- Onion Slices
- Butter
- 1tsp Cloves
- 2-3 Cardamom Pods
- 1/2 tspCoriander Seeds
- 1tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to Taste
- 1tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
- 1cup Water
- Cream
Method:
1) Marinate the chicken with curd, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste.2) Mix it well and rest it for 6 hours
3) Grind garlic, green chillies and onion
4) Heat some butter in a pan
5) Add cardamom pods, coriander seeds, fennel seeds and ginger garlic paste
6) Cook for two minutes
7) Add red chilli powder,salt to taste and garam masala. Stir well.
8) Make it groovy by adding the tomato puree
9) Add chicken pieces to the gravy
10) Pour a cup of hot water and let it cook for 10 minutes
11) Top it off with some fresh cream and serve it hot.
