He has women eating out of his hands. In fact, I think he may have moments where women are willing to eat his hands. He’s the guy that can actually answer the question, ‘What’s cookin’, good lookin’? with a whole range of dishes and not just with ‘Maggi’. We are talking, of course, about Vikas Khanna – the man who makes chefs look really, really good. It’s his birthday today and we decided to celebrate by giving you 5 facts about this man whose last name could easily be McDreamy.
He’s Served the Who’s Who
When you have heads of state, CEOs of major companies and the prime minister of a country to feed, it can seem like a daunting task. In September this year, Vikas Khanna drew up a menu and prepared a meal for PM Modi and the CEOs of some of the top companies in the US and made it look really easy. The net worth at that party? 4 trillion dollars. And what was on the menu? Shigmoutsav sol kadi, eggplant millefeuille chaat, Teej corn dhokla, molten cake with berry compote and Onam beetroot poriyal. *drools*
He’s a Busy Man
Vikas Khanna is a busy, busy man. When he’s not preparing elaborate meals for heads of state and CEOs of companies, the chef enjoys other pursuits. He’s the author of several cookbooks and other books on food, he hosts a popular food show and also manages his own restaurant – Junoon in New York City. He’s also makes several appearances and does his bit for charity. This a good looking man with a heart of gold. Marry me already.
He’s an Achiever
Vikas Khanna had the odds stacked against him. He couldn’t run till he was 13 because he had misaligned feet. But he forged on.
He started working at a restaurant in the US that soon shut shop. He then went on to open another restaurant but things weren’t looking too good for this place called Purnima and that shut down as well.
Undaunted, he started Junoon which still stands today and is now a Michelin-starred restaurant with patrons and loyal customers.
He’s Inspired
If you aren’t already falling head over heels in love with this man, this should do you in.
Vikas Khanna is inspired by his grandmother’s cooking. She loved to cook and watching her cook and helping her around the kitchen became his training ground. While modern, contemporary Indian cooking is taking the world by storm, Vikas Khanna stands out with his love for robust flavours that are simple but still maintain their core during the process of deconstruction.
He’s Cute as a Button
Now we know that he’s smart, cooks very well and he even has a heart. Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room, shall we?
I mean, how hot is this chef? And looks like a lot of people agree. The man has been voted “New York’s Hottest Chef” in a poll conducted by the New York Eater blog. In 2011, People magazine included him in the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ list. And of course, many women around the world already have him in their ‘ Must Marry’ list. Right now, though, the man who’s making our hearts sputter is very single.
Yes, ladies, go crazy.
