Hey, It’s 2017. Don’t you think we can’t just settle with plain old fake lashes, which only add volume and length?
Say hello to F.lashes, a new design by Tien Pham and Davey Taylor that is ‘fine, fresh, and fierce’. These are LED light powered eyelashes that literally give your eyes that special twinkle and sparkle. Here’s how they look.
Cosmetic Accessories of the Future
F.lashes, which started off as a Halloween costume idea, have seven different colour options: white, pink, red, yellow, green, blue and light blue.
There's more: These aren't just stable lights. As demonstrated by creator Tien Pham, F.lashes have different effects that get activated with different body motions like tilting, nodding and jumping. Have a look!
They’re Pretty Simple
F.lashes come in two parts-the controller board and the LED lashes. They're reusable, but not totally waterproof.
The application involves attaching the LEDs to your eyes with regular eyelash glue. There are also hardly-visible wires which hook up to a tiny battery that goes behind the head.
Unfortunately, they aren’t available for sale yet. The idea went viral after the creator wore a pair at Maker Faire, an event that celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, science projects. His crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter has reached over twice its goal, and it ends on 21st July.
People really seem to like the idea, as a tweet about them received more than 770 re-tweets and 1,500 likes.
Would you want to get your hands on a pair, and literally light up the room?
