The time has come to channel your inner Ross Geller and get excited about dinosaurs. On Thursday, 7 December, the trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom dropped an abandoned nature park, an active volcano, lots of dinosaurs and of course the T-Rex.
Fallen Kingdom is the sequel to the 2015 mega hit, Jurassic World, and fifth installment of the Jurassic Park universe established by Steven Spielberg in 1993.
It stars Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, a dinosaur-whisperer, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, an executive at the dinosaur theme park, and the trailer also gives a peak hinting the return of Jeff Goldblum to the franchise.
While, its prequel was about surviving in the park after an experiment on a T-Rex goes horribly wrong, Fallen Kingdom is about saving the dinosaurs from the ticking time bomb i.e. the island.
Owen’s character, who shares a special bond with the dinosaurs, is recruited by Dearing to go on this rescue-cum-suicide mission.
The new films bank on the nostalgia of the Steven Spielberg classics which are immensely popular in India as well. Jurassic World is the fourth highest-grossing movie of all time and earned more than Rs 100 crores at the Indian box-office after being released in 2,108 screens in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The movie also starred Irrfan Khan as the theme park’s owner.
Directed by JA Bayona, Fallen Kingdom will hope to reciprocate the financial success of Jurassic World. It is scheduled for release in India on 8 June and will hit worldwide on 22 June, 2018.
