Even as it becomes clear that Sasikala Natarajan, late TN CM J Jayalalithaa’s closest aide, is all set to take over the reins of the AIADMK by being elected as the General Secretary of the party, Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa, who has been expelled from the party, has hit out hard at the AIADMK and Sasikala Natarajan.

As senior AIADMK leaders state publicly that Sasikala Natarajan would take over soon, Sasikala Pushpa said that she must not be allowed to do so since Jayalalithaa had expelled her from the party for conspiring against her in 2011.

Sasikala Pushpa has also filed a case at Madras High Court against Sasikala Natarajan being elected as the General Secretary of the AIADMK party.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, she said, “It is not right to elect Sasikala Natarajan as the general secretary of the party. Jayalalithaa had not even given her a councillor or an MLA seat. She also conspired against Jayalalithaa in 2011 and was expelled from the party.”

Moreover, she said, “There is a rule that only a person being a primary member for five consecutive years can be elected for general secretary. However, if this is implied, then, Sasikala is not fit to be the general secretary.”.

Raising suspicion over Jayalalithaa’s death, she said that proper details were given out about the deaths of Annadurai and MG Ramachandran. But Jayalalithaa’s death raises suspicions, she said.

She also questioned why she was living at the Poes Garden house. “Who gave Sasikala the right to occupy the Poes Garden house? I hope that the judiciary will do justice.”

Sasikala Pushpa too was expelled from the party in August after she had an altercation with DMK MP Trichy Siva at the Delhi airport. She had also filed a complaint asking for police protection.

Later, she had said in the parliament that her ‘leader’ slapped her. “My life and dignity is under threat. Will the government save me?... I am being harassed. I need protection. In Tamil Nadu, I don’t have safety.”
