Ravichandran Ashwin joined legends such as Sachin Tendulkar (2010), Rahul Dravid (2004), Ricky Ponting (2006 and 2007) and Kumar Sangakkara (2012), after winning the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for being the best cricketer of the year on Thursday.
The Chennai lad also won the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.
During the period between 14 September 2015 - 20 September 2016, Ashwin picked up 48 wickets at a bowling average of 15.39 and scored 336 runs at an average of 42.00.
