Prices of petrol and diesel will now be revised daily. Effective from Friday, the daily revision is applicable across the country. After initially opposing the decision, petrol pump owners decided to call off their strike on Thursday.
With the new system in place, let us explain to you in detail what all the new system entails, and how can you keep a tab on the changing rates.
The consumers can know about the prices from the petrol pump, via SMS, or through the mobile application of Indian Oil Corporation Limited – Fuel@IOC.
As far as the dealer code is concerned , you can get that from the petrol pump.
Prices Can Differ Within Cities Too
Even within a city, the daily price can differ by up to 15 paise per litre. It depends on the distance between the petrol pump and the supply terminal, and the transport costs involved.
Moreover, wherever the petrol pumps are not automated, the dealers can get relevant information via SMS, e-mail, the mobile app, and the web portal.
