Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, was included in a Forbes list of 25 'Global Game Changers' who are changing the way businesses are run, and tapping the potential of millions around the world.
Forbes' second annual Global Game Changers list includes 25 "intrepid business leaders" who are "transforming their industries and changing the lives of billions of people around the globe". Ambani, the only Indian on the list, was included for his efforts to bring the internet to India's masses.
Ambani changed the landscape of the Indian telecom market when he launched Jio in September 2016. His initial offering of free internet and voice calls, for a limited period, helped the company amass 100 million users in six months.
The list included Snap co-founder Evan Spiegel, Slack creator Stewart Butterfield, Alibaba logistics maestro Judy Tong as well as Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
