A few days after quitting the Hizbul Mujahideen as its commander, Zakir Musa on Monday released a new video asserting that he will keep fighting Indian forces till India’s hold over Kashmir ends, Greater Kashmir reported.
Musa, in a seven-minute video, said that nobody will be allowed to take undue “advantage” of the ideological differences between Kashmiri separatists. “Let us first fight the Indian occupation and then take care of other problems,” he added.
“All the Mujahideen (militants) believe in Shariat (Islamic rule) and Shahadat (martyrdom),” he further said.
Musa also thanked the Al Qaeda for their “pledge” to “shariat and shahadat” and for using his slogan in their magazine, the Navae Afghan Jihad, Hindustan Times reported. He further quashed all talks of him having joined another organisation or outfit.
Musa’s latest video follows another video that surfaced last week where a voice purported to be that of Musa’s, could be heard saying that the heads of Hurriyat leaders will be chopped off for calling the Kashmir struggle a “political movement.” The Quint could not independently verify the video.
Hours after the video, the militant outfit distanced itself from Musa’s statement, calling it “unacceptable” and that it reflects the personal opinion of “Zakir Musa”.
It was after this that Musa ended his association with the outfit.
