In an exclusive Facebook Live with The Quint, former Director-General CRPF, Dilip Trivedi, shed light on the state of the medical facilities available to the armed forces.
He said that despite having 8 lakh armed forces jawans in the country, not enough is being done by the government to provide them the best medical treatment.
After 2004, the government’s initiative to reduce the pension burden has further affected the armed forces. The government has, however, approved a proposal to set up an 800-bed super specialty hospital for the police, which may take 6-7 years to get up and running.
