She is the daughter of eight-time MP of Jharkhand and former Deputy Speaker, Kariya Munda. Chandravati Saru has been raised on the principle of humility. That is why she does not feel embarrassed or ashamed when she sells mangoes on the streets of a town 40 kilometres from Ranchi. Saru, a teacher by profession, does not sell mangoes because of financial crisis.

She wants to encourage agriculture among the younger generations and intends to donate whatever she earns from selling mangoes to needy children.

Munda is widely respected as one of the most humble politicians of Jharkhand. During his free time and when he is not attending parliament, he clears weeds from his garden and chats with his neighbours.

Coming from this background, it is not surprising that Saru could be so comfortable selling mangoes on the streets.
