New Delhi, March 13 (IANS) Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's advisor V. K. Jain, who was also a witness in the Delhi Chief Secretary (CS) assault case, has resigned from the post citing personal reasons.
Jain told IANS that he submitted his resignation on Monday due to "personal reasons and family commitments".
Last month, Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash had alleged that he was beaten up by two AAP MLAs in the presence of Kejriwal at the Chief Minister's residence on February 19, where he had been called for an emergency meeting.
Later, Delhi Police said that Jain, who was present at the time of the incident, said that he saw two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs assaulting the Chief Secretary.
Jain, a 1984 batch DANICS officer, was promoted to the IAS cadre and retired in 2017 as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) after which he took charge of the advisor's post.
