When Bihar’s ‘topper’ Ruby Rai was asked to write an essay on the poet cum saint–Tulsidas for her re-test, she managed to write only ‘Tulsidas ji pranam”, shocking the expert panel that conducted her re-test.

Another official said that Rai told the panel that she had prepared for the board exams for two years but had forgotten everything.

Ruby Rai, the Arts topper in the Bihar State Board Exam who was accused of cheating has been arrested by the special task force. She was produced in the local court on Sunday.
The topper had said to a TV news channel that the subject she topped — political science — taught her cooking. Fresh exams were ordered for all the toppers, and Rai did not sit for them claiming illness.
After skipping the two summons to appear before a team of subject experts for reassessment of her exam performance, Ruby, who enrolled from the controversial Vishun Roy college in Vaishali, arrived at BSEB office on Saturday to face a written re-test as well as interview.

Ruby had scored 444 out of 500 marks in the Arts stream. Warrant has also been issued against Saurabh Shreshtha, who scored 485 out of 500 in Science. Both studied in VR College in Vaishali district. According to police officials, the Patna civil court has issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest against four toppers including Rubi Rai.
