The chief of a local fringe right-wing outfit Sri Ram Sene, was arrested by Mangaluru police on Thursday in connection with Kannada scholar MM Kalburgi’s murder in Dharwad, Karnataka on August 30, police said.
Prasad Attavar, head of Ram Sene Mangaluru, who had been detained for interrogation for a threatening Facebook post, was handed over to Bunder police station, as they remained clueless about the killers of Kalburgi, even four days after the brutal murder.
His Facebook account was hacked, he claims.
Bantwal police had on August 31 arrested Bhuvith Shetty, for threatening another scholar K S Bhagwan, as their next target.
Shetty, who later withdrew his remarks from Twitter, was released on bail.
