After Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi made inflammatory comments after the Bengaluru molestation, Bollywood has come out in large numbers to speak against him. Some of the noted names among the male actors speaking with sane, counter-arguments are Farhan Akhtar, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan to name a few.
Azmi’s words about the Bengaluru mass molestation are repulsive to say the least.
You have to keep petrol away from fire. And if there is sugar, ants will come automatically to it. In today’s world, the more a woman is nude, the more she is considered modern and educated. Such things are on the rise in the country. Western culture is a black spot on the country’s culture and it should be stopped at the earliest. And we need to focus on our famous Indian culture.Abu Asim Azmi, Samajwadi Party
This isn’t the first time Azmi has made such a comment. Back in 2014, Ayesha Takia – Azmi’s daughter-in-law herself – tweeted out in response to similar remarks.
We think people like Abu Azmi, who indulge in victim-blaming when grave crimes against women are committed, deserve a burqa and a chastity belt. Bollywood agrees, don’t you?
