One of the most important days of your life is around the corner; not only do you want to have the best time but to LOOK your best.

While your ensemble has to be great, most brides fret about their skin – after all, they want soft, smooth looking skin, and that’s only a given.

Avoid missing out on lustre with these easy to follow tips:

Tried a Laser Treatment Yet?

A lot of brides decide to go in for a laser treatment for their upper lip area or their underarms – which is great, but timing is essential.

Ideally, you should take that decision over 8 months in advance since the sessions are divided over a gap of 2 months each.

If you’re just thinking about it and your wedding date is around the corner, postponing it would be wiser. If you are already in the middle of a laser treatment, make sure you follow post-care regime as advised by your doctor.

Add to Your Diet, Don’t Cut From it

You are what you eat – there are no two ways about that. Dieting is a proven way to shed unwanted kilos and to fit into halter blouses, but its side effects are many. While your metabolism rate may go down, there are also increased chances of dark circles and pigmentation when dieting.

Instead, tweak your diet: avoid caffeine and alcohol altogether. They are completely dehydrating and have no nutritional value. Add vegetable juices, fresh fruits, nuts to your daily routine. Remember, no amount of blush and bronzer can duplicate the flush of your skin post a workout session!

Go Nuts Over Body Polishing

As your wedding gets closer, go nuts choosing an array of scrubs, massages and body packs. The idea behind it is to slough dead cells, remove tan lines, tackle hair-ingrowth and basically make your skin feel soft.

I suggest you do it 4 to 7 days prior to your big day.

You Need a Pre-Wedding Facial

Most professional salons offer a facial consultation for brides to avoid redness and breakouts, so make the best of it. If you’re already going in for a Vitamin C or an oxygen facial, then stick to it.

Make sure your facialist uses light to medium strokes to avoid redness.

Get a facial once every month, and three days before your wedding functions.

All Things Natural

Go to a dermatologist if you’re facing acne, dark circles or any other problems that require medical attention. Follow the CTM regime religiously (that’s Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising for the uninitiated) and eat well.

A milk bath and a fruit pulp scrub can never go wrong so if you have sensitive skin, go natural. Finally, don’t underestimate the power of beauty sleep.
