Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan opened up about how he reduced body muscle for his upcoming flick Sui Dhaaga. In conversation with celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, posted by the nutritionist on Facebook, Varun says that he was asked to tone down his body for the role, but despite his best efforts, his muscle wasn’t melting, especially on his arms.

So, how did he overcome it?

By following Rujuta’s advice and including a lot of vegetables on his diet. He says he switched to eating a lot of pumpkin, lauki (bottle gourd), turayi (ridged gourd) and karela (bitter gourd).

The actor also added that even though he asked for supplements, Rujuta flatly refused him.

Rujuta added during the chat that if you are indeed trying to cut down, it’s a great idea to switch to water-based vegetables. Vegetables like pumpkins are brilliant at speeding up metabolism and helping you drop a few kilos.
