I have this one pore above my left brow which repeatedly breaks out a white, bubbly, gross godawful zit over and over again. On the same blo*dy spot!

A pesky zit can drive you crazy. But why does it happen? We know what causes pimples to turn up in the first place – stress, diet, pollution, oily skin, makeup, hormones – but the reason why zits just won’t RIP is still unknown.

We took the matter to the pros. Scroll below to find out exactly how to deal with these ugly monsters:

Dear Zit, Go Die!

Zits appear in the exact same place because of two reasons:

1. Dermatologists say you might have a ‘stress’ area on your face – a patch where pimples break out when your immune system is compromised from stress or an illness. It can totally be hormonal as well – often women get pimples in the stress area like clockwork during their menstrual cycle.

2. If you anxiously pop the yellow-ish top of the white bubbly each time you get a pimple, you might have infected the pore in the past which keeps getting re-infected. Picking at a pimple loosens the cell lining of the pore and causes the clogged oil to slip deeper into the skin, causing an inflammatory reaction.

The Zit Might Be an Underground Pimple

Notice the suckers which rear their ugly head like a bump on your skin but never break the surface of your skin? Well, these develop when a pore branches out and causes oil to form an inflated cone under the skin.

This kind of a pimple changes the structure of your skin. If you get these annoying cysts every month, see a dermatologist and get some cortisone medication to heal the breakout from the inside.

The silver lining? It is possible to say goodbye to zits forever, but only if you STOP SQUEEZING those suckers. Off course, you could give your lifestyle a complete overhaul to avoid flare-ups in the future.

But remember, don’t put up with a recurring pimple, especially if it’s painful. Your body is trying to tell you something!

Breakup With Breakouts

Cysts and blackheads around the nose can also be a sign of high blood pressure. Up your vitamin B intake, eat foods high in omega fatty acids and exercise regularly to give your cardiovascular system a boost (Photo: iStockphoto)

If you dream of eradicating these troubling blemishes, stock salicylic acid cleansers in your arsenal which gets inside the pores to reduce acne-causing bacteria. Use it only after a pimple is gone, on clear, pimple-free skin. Religiously apply it on the affected spot to avoid breakouts.

But first, deal with the inflammation – hold ice against the area at five minutes intervals for at least half an hour. Apply a soothing clay mask to detoxify your skin and unclog the pores.

Hair products play a major role in flare-ups. Your cute fringes might be causing the acne on your forehead. Also, be careful of greasy hair products.

Your glasses could be the villain too. Basically, anything which causes repetitive irritation in the same location can cause zits to appear.

And never ever ever sleep with your make-up on. We cannot stress on the importance of this one. Make-up clogs the pores of your skin causing mutant zits.
