In her recently released self-help pregnancy book, 'Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible,' the actress made it a point to talk about a lot of things. A lot of parts of her life that most celebrities would shy away from talking.

From stigmas to mood swings to sex drive to nutrition and more, the book is an insight into her life as a pregnant woman, and the actor unapologetically breaking taboos during her journey.

Kareena and her husband, Saif Ali Khan are parents to two sons. They had Taimur Ali Khan in December, 2016. They had their second son Jehangir Ali Khan, in February this year.

Here are the top five things we learned from Kareena's pregnancy book.

It’s Okay to Not Feel Sexy During Pregnancy!

The reduced sex drive women go through during pregnancy was one of the most talked-about issues in her book. It also provides a range of suggested sexual positions.

“Nobody wants to talk about belching and swollen feet and not feeling sexy enough, or hair loss, or getting such bad mood swings you don’t even feel like talking. That’s why we talk about sex in the book," Kareena told The Guardian in a recent interview.

"Most women in India get scared to address this issue. But these are things that we should be talking about," she added.

Body Positivity

Kareena hasn't been one of those actors copped up in the house and away from the glitz and glamour during pregnancy.

“Most Bollywood actors, when they get pregnant, don’t leave the house because they are stressed about how they look, that they are no longer this glamorous diva, worried if they put on some weight that people will judge them. There’s still a lot of those taboos...I just wanted to own it,” she was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

Despite her fears around career after putting on 26 kg during her first pregnancy, the actor took up film projects, featured in commercials and showed up at parties with her baby bump on full display.

Pregnancy Cravings Are Normal

Taking to instagram, Kareena recently revealed that she craved pizza during her second pregnancy.

"When I was pregnant... I was a pizza-guzzling girl who would demolish one pizza after another and my friends would just watch in disbelief," she said in the post with a video of her devouring a huge pizza.

Be Kind to yourself

“I think most new moms place a lot of pressure on themselves — I certainly did! I was so paranoid and nervous about handling Taimur, and I am so much more relaxed with Jeh,” the actor was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

“Be kind to yourself... though I know that is easier said than done!” she reminds us.

Stay Fit & Healthy

From advocating for homemade food to talking about the benefits of pre-natal yoga, the actor has also given plenty of fitness advice to other pregnant women.

Taking to Instagram, she had posted photos of her performing Yoga with her baby bump, writing “A little bit of Yoga. A little bit of calm” in the caption.

Kareena’s book is interspersed with explanations from specialists like dietitian Rujuta Diwekar, fitness trainer Namrata Purohit and Professor of Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Dr Prabha Chandra.
