Amidst reports of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge showing judges Zakir Khan, Hussain Dalal and Mallika Dua the door, thanks to poor TRPs, Akshay Kumar and his comedy show has walked into a new controversy.

In a leaked video, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge had a moment where Akshay Kumar tells Mallika Dua, “Mallika Ji aap bell bajao, mai aapko bajata hoon”. The offensive and sexist comment didn’t rub off well on Mallika or her father, veteran journalist Vinod Dua.

Vinod, in a Facebook post, had called Akshay Kumar a “cretin” and condemned his language and sense of humour in no uncertain terms.

Vinod Dua’s post (which was later deleted) read:

“I am going to screw this cretin Akshay Kumar for telling his co-worker Mallika Dua that ‘Aap bell bajao, main aap ko bajata hun’ at 5:26. This is his sense of humour and language… Star Plus… Wake up”.

However, Mallika later tweeted clarifying that Vinod’s Facebook post was removed because of copyright issues.

But Mallika also revealed that she had deleted a tweet that she posted because of the trolling:

Both Vinod and Malllika Dua have since then deleted their social media posts about Akshay Kumar’s comment.

The Toilet: Ek Prem Katha star is yet to respond to the controversy.
