In an effort to bring forth the struggles of Baba Ramdev, Discovery Jeet, a new channel will be broadcasting Swami Ramdev: Ek Sangharsh that traces the origins of the yoga guru who turned businessman with his brand Patanjali. The show is co-produced by Ajay Devgn Film Productions and Watergate Production.

“My life has not been an easy ride, I have faced ‘sangarsh’ all along and the biopic traces the sequence of events as they emerged. I want to give a message to all countrymen - never give up, life will offer its challenges but if you are up to it, day in and day out, then nothing can stop you from succeeding.”

The Face of Swami Ramdev: Ek Sangharsh

Bhojpuri actor Kranti Prakash Jha is essaying the role of the self-styled godman, and what he went through before becoming a self-proclaimed global icon. Jha rose to prominence after his role of Santosh Lal in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in 2016.

Co-Producer Ajay Devgn and Baba Ramdev, both, feel that Kranti Prakash Jha will do justice to the biopic.

“‘Swami Ramdev: Ek Sangharsh’ has the potential to become one of the most talked about shows in the annals of TV history in India. The title role, therefore, has its own significance. We wanted a fresh face that looks like the real-life Swami Ramdev; and should be able to emulate Swami Ramdev’s mannerisms very convincingly on the screen. It is never easy playing a real-life legend. I am happy to note that Kranti is ready to walk that extra mile to deliver a strong performance.”

“Kranti’s inherently spiritual personality and his ability to remember and recite shlokas in the Sanskrit language impressed me. I enjoyed having an early morning yoga session with him, he is working hard to get the asanas right.”

Kranti, himself, thanks his stars that he could play such a pivotal role for any actor.

“I think this show was part of my destiny. I had auditioned for it long back but things did not work out and I got busy with other things. One fine day, I got a call from the team as they wanted to meet me again. We did a series of auditions and look test and finally, I was on board. I truly feel blessed that I am part of this show as we are trying to communicate some really important factors of our culture through it.”
