Salman Khan has spoken about love and marriage on several occasions, but his take on PDA (public display of affection) is a bit unconventional. On the sets of Dus Ka Dum, a popular TV show that he’s currently hosting, a question was asked- What percentage of Indians are scolded by policemen for romancing in public?

But before the contestants could answer this one, Salman shared an interesting anecdote about why he has always stayed away from visiting romantic spots with his girlfriends, around the city.

My father gave me a clear-cut instruction when it came to girlfriends. He gave us the permission to spend time at home rather than roaming around the city. The same instruction was applicable to my sisters as well. If they have any good man in their life, they should first tell their parents and not hide anything from them. He has given us the right to take the decision on whom to marry and whom not to marry.

While most Indian parents might disagree with Salim Khan’s take on dating and marriage, here’s why Salman thinks it’s sad for lovers to be forced to meet in public gardens, at the sea face or in shady parking lots.

It is very sad to see couples spending time with each other in public places. These couples are helpless as there are around 8-10 people in a small house. These youngsters cannot afford to book a hotel as society takes it in another way.
