The short film, Hum Kuch Kah Na Sakey, in memory of Pratyusha Banerjee, that Kamya Panjabi was planning to release on April 1, has encountered an unexpected stumbling block. Kamya, a close friend of Pratyusha, wanted to screen the film as a tribute for the deceased actress on her first death anniversary
On Friday afternoon, the honourable Mumbai High Court issued a stay order against the film on the basis of the police complaint and the legal notices filed by Pratyusha’s boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.
Triumphant and emotional, Rahul says,“This lady had no business releasing a so-called film that Pratyusha never shot for. Believe me, I’d have known about it if it was a reality. I was with Pratyusha almost every minute of her life for the last six months. I am glad the honourable court saw the wrong that would’ve been done if the so-called film was released.”
Rahul feels it is Pratyusha who made this stay order possible. “You tell me how this evil scheme of cashing in on her name was stopped within two days if not because of Pratyusha? Kamya Panjabi refused to accept the two legal notices we sent her. I had to go to the honourable court for a quick solution to the crisis. I can feel Pratyusha’s presence in stopping Kamya Panjabi from her dirty doing. I can feel her presence all the time. She is with me.”
Rahul’s parting salvo to Ms Panjabi, “She is very fond of talking about herself in the third person. After I tried to stop her from releasing her film on Pratyusha she was quoted as saying, ‘Kamya Panjabi kissike baap se nahin darti.’ Well now Kamya Panjabi, hum sabke baap se daro. Woh upar se dekh raha hai.”
Kamya had earlier released the trailer of her short film. Take a look at it here:
