The reboot of Sanjivani, which will air on StarPlus, was announced by actor Rohit Roy in June. He wrote on social media, “And the 2nd news ... As promised, I’m back on TV with a reboot of the much loved show Sanjivani !! Can’t wait to shoot with this talented lot!”

Sanjivani is a medical drama that aired between 2002 and 2005 and followed the lives of a group of interns at a hospital. The reboot will feature actors Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Kohli, who were part of the original show, and will also feature Surbhi Chandna and Sayantani Ghosh. According to producer Siddharth Malhotra, the leads will play resident doctors and not interns.

Rohit Roy will also be seen alongside John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in Sanjay Gupta’s gangster film Mumbai Saga. The film also features Jackie Shroff, Prateik Babbar, Rohit Roy, Suniel Shetty, Gulshan Grover and Amol Gupte in pivotal roles. Mumbai Saga will reportedly be set in the 1980s and 1990s and is based on real-life events such as the shutting down of mills and the nexus between politicians, cops and the underworld. The film is expected to release next year.
