Actor Megha Dhade emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi in the grand finale on 22 July, winning a cash prise of Rs 50 Lakh. Among five finalists and a wild card entry - Megha, Pushkar Jog, Sharmishtha Raut, Aastad Kale, Sai Lokur and Smita Gondkar - Megha came out on top, with Pushkar and Smita as the first and second runners-up respectively.
The show was hosted by filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar.
Despite Smita being the clear fan favourite as well as the host’s choice, Megha ended up taking home the trophy. Other housemates on the show were apparently irritated by her gossiping habit.
Nevertheless, having won the trophy, Megha has left all that behind.
I would not like to confess anything nor would I like to apologise to anyone. I was like an open book inside the Bigg Boss house and said sorry whenever and wherever it was needed.Megha Dhade to Times of India
Megha also adds that her biggest competition in the house was Sai.
The show’s grand finale was a star-studded event with dance performances by former contestants Resham Tipnis, Jui Gadkari, Rutuja Dharmadhikari, Rajesh Shringarpore and Sushant Shelar.
The Bigg Boss format has been replicated across various regions due to the success of Hindi Bigg Boss. Besides Bigg Boss Marathi, the show has also been launched in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
With Bigg Boss Marathi gaining popularity, a new season seems imminent.
