Kiku Sharda would be a happy man today. The comedian, who was sent to 14 days of judicial custody in January 2016 for imitating Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Ram Rahim, took a slight dig at the “godman” for his 20 year prison sentence for raping two women.
“Enjoying a peaceful Chinese meal with no monosodium glutamate @mrsfunnybones @priyankasharda3,” he tweeted, tagging Twinkle Khanna.
Twinkle, in her recent column, had referred to the incident and said, “I think he (Kiku) should immediately go to the nearest Chinese restaurant to celebrate, order a beer and tell the waiter, ‘I don’t want any monosodium glutamate in my Schezwan chicken, you people should lock away your MSG too. Cheers!’”
Kiku gladly obliged. Twinkle also responded to Sharda’s tweet.
On Monday, Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was given a 10-year sentence each for two separate rape cases, that will run consecutively and not concurrently.
In 2016, Kiku Sharda was booked and arrested by the Haryana police following a complaint that he spoofed the controversial godman, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
One of his followers, who was offended by the mimickry act had said that Kiku had made a mockery of his guruji. “In the show (‘Jashn-E-Ummeed’), he (Kiku) was shown dressed up like our respected guruji. He was shown with liquor and dancing with two girls. He did a mockery of guruji. Whosoever saw it, their feelings were hurt,” said follower of Ram Rahim, Uday Singh.
Even before the complaint was filed, Kiku had apologised to Ram Rahim’s followers for hurting sentiments.
