Television actor Dishak Vakani, well known for her role as Dayaben on the hit show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will be returning back to series after taking a hiatus during her pregnancy.
39 year-old Disha took a maternity leave from the show last November when she gave birth to a baby girl. Rumours were swirling that the makers of the show would replace her but the producers decided to wait for Disha instead, considering her character’s popularity.
Now, according to a report in Times of India, the actor will be rejoining Taarak Mehta in two months time.
In other news for the show, Nirmal Soni has been confirmed to join the cast as the new Dr Hathi. The late actor Kavi Kumar Azad had made the role of Dr Hathi popular, before passing away in July due to a cardiac arrest. The makers of i took their time to recast the character, but zeroed in on Nirmal Soni. Incidentally, Nirmal had originally played Dr Hathi when the show first aired in 2009.
Nirmal will be re-introduced on the show as Dr Hathi in a special Ganesh Chaturthi themed episode.
