Currently the wedding festivities of popular leads, Sonakshi Rastogi (Dipika Kakar) and Rohit Sippy (Karan V Grover), are on in full swing in Star Plus’ popular daily soap Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum (KHKT). The wedding is expected to happen next week, but in a surprise moment before the wedding rituals begin, the show has paid a tribute to Star Plus’s iconic daily soap, Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
In the tonight’s episode of KHKT, Rohit Sippy will send a special video to the Rastogis, where the Sippy family will be seen recreating the title track video of the hit Ekta Kapoor show to welcome their soon-to-be bahu (daughter-in-law) Sonakshi, who is a famous television actor on the show, into their big family.
Rohit, who has often trolled Indian daily soaps in KHKT and the Sippy family, who is not a fan of these shows either, decide to welcome their TV actor bahu in daily soap style.
Like in the original ‘Kyunki Saans’ title track, where Tulsi, played by Smriti Irani, welcomes the viewers into the Virani home, we see Sippy family’s saas Veena (Shalini Kapoor) welcoming their new bahu into the Sippy mansion.
Watching the video will leave Sonakshi, who is often taunted for being a TV actor in the show, and her family, overwhelmed.
Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum has been much-loved for breaking the clutter on prime time TV, by blending the daily soap drama with progressive writing and breaking stereotypes that have been set on television over the years.
Interestingly, when Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi went on air in 2000, it broke the clutter with its refreshing take on a joint family, becoming an iconic television soap in television history.
In the past few weeks, KHKT has seen the engagement, sangeet, mehendi and haldi ceremonies of its leads being celebrated amidst tons of drama. And coming week will witness the two tying the knot amidst major plot twists.
The show is a love story between a famous television actor Sonakshi Rastogi, played by Dipika Kakar and a well-known heart surgeon Dr Rohit Sippy, played by Karan V Grover.
