The news of CID going off air may have thrown scores of fans of the show into despair— and even spawned a petition on Change.org — but keep calm, because Daya will be back breaking down doors on ACP Pradyuman’s command before you know it. Sony TV has clarified that the show is not ending, but going on a hiatus starting 28 October.
While we wait for the reboot, here’s a look at how the cast has changed since the show aired in 1998.
ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) may have grown older, but those eyebrows and catchphrases are still legendary.
Aditya Srivastava, who plays Senior Inspector Abhijeet, appears to have barely aged since 2000. Is he the Keanu Reeves of Indian television? We’re with ACP Pradyuman on this one — “Kuch toh gadbad hai”.
Daya (Dayanand Shetty), on the other hand, has. seen. some. things. He’s grown older, rounder and traded in his smooth baby face for stubble he couldn’t be bothered to get rid of. In short, Daya is all of us.
Dr Salunkhe (Narendra Gupta) has plummeted into a mid-life crisis and is now channelling Ranveer Singh’s character in Finding Fanny.
Meanwhile, Inspector Fredricks (Dinesh Phadnis) has been busy keeping hair dye companies in business for the past 10 years.
She may have clocked 10 years on the show, but Dr Tarika (Shraddha Musale) has clearly found the elixir to eternal youth.
