The 69th Emmy Awards brought together the best in the business and among several entertaining highlights were Alec Baldwin’s generous offer of his trophy to US President Donald Trump, and Quantico girl Priyanka Chopra killin’ it on the red carpet.
Satirical sketch show Saturday Night Live took the Emmys 2017 by storm, winning three awards that were peppered with multiple jabs at Trump. Alec Baldwin won the comedy supporting actor Emmy for his withering impersonations of Trump. Kate McKinnon won for her spoofs of his presidential election rival Hillary Clinton and White House aide Kellyanne Conway. The show also won for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.
And Baldwin offered to share his trophy with the president.
Baldwin was of course by no means the only one. Here’s what host Stephen Colbert did and that too in the surprise company of Sean Spicer, former White House press secretary :
Donald Glover, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Atlanta, thanked Trump for making bringing the focus back on racism.
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman won her first ever Emmy Award as Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series, for her role in Big Little Lies.
Looking ravishing in Calvin Khein by Appointment, Nicole took the moment to talk about domestic abuse, something her character in Big Little Lies is a victim of.
Moving on to the red carpet, Priyanka Chopra, who co-presented the award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, slayed in a Balmain.
