The final seasons of the hit HBO fantasy drama TV series Game Of Thrones will be shorter, says showrunner David Benioff.

The finale of the sixth season was recently aired and Benioff says that there are two more seasons coming up, reports deadline.com.

It is two more seasons we are talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we will end up with. Call it 73 for now.

While the show has surpassed the book, Benioff and co-showrunner DB Weiss have had a lot of conversations with the Ice and Fire series author George RR Martin about the trajectory the narrative will take.

As we get close to the ending, we have been talking about that for so long, things come into better focus. Once we get to the final end game, we have got very specific ideas that have grown organically over the past six plus years about where everything will end up.
