While the Super Bowl itself is the ‘most watched’ annual event on TV in the United States, this time around, its halftime show became the ‘most watched musical event of the year’, thanks to Beyoncé, Coldplay and Bruno Mars.

Beyoncé Steals the Show

Beyoncé, Coldplay and Bruno Mars performed during the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show and absolutely killed it. Now that combination is a recipe for record breaking viewership.

Queen Bey Beyoncé paid tribute to the king of pop Michael Jackson, as she dressed in a black custom leather jacket with gold metal military details, designed by Dean and Dan Caten. She and Bruno then joined Martin for an awesome closeout and some crazy foot-tapping to Uptown Funk on stage. The highlight was the dance off between Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. Epic!

That’s not all. Beyoncé’s fans were in for a big surprise when she announced The Formation World Tour, just minutes after stealing the show with her high octane performance.

The Gaga Moment

While we agree that the star of the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show was Beyoncé, it was Lady Gaga who kicked started the event with the American national anthem.

In her sparkling red pantsuit and the glittery eye shadow to match, Gaga had full attention of the country.

The Creepy Commercials

Well, a Super Bowl usually has some epic commercials playing through the show. But this year, even though a 30 second commercial slot costed around $4.5 Million, surprisingly a lotof the ads were creepy as hell. From the Mountain Dew‘s Puppy Monkey Baby thing and Doritos’ birthing ad to Willem DaFoe in a dress, each of them were consistently and surprisingly freaky. Is that a new trend we haven’t caught on to yet?
