Anushka Sharma’s foray in the horror genre appears to have had a promising start. After four sinister screamers and one trailer, we have been given another look from the film which is clearly not for the faint-hearted.

An earlier teaser of the Prosit Roy directorial, Pari is just as scary. It shows a chained Anushka Sharma watching cartoon on TV even as... wait for it.... her toe nails grow into claws.

Brrr....

Watch the teaser here:

A joint production by Anushka and her brother’s Clean Slate Films & KriArj Entertainment, the horror film also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajat Kapoor & Ritabhari Chakraborty.

In the first teaser, Anushka’s piercing stare turns from innocent to dreadful replete with bloodied eyes. The sinister look that the teaser leaves you with suggests that you are in for a spook-fest that does not employ horror tropes but relies on a disquieting mood.

This is Anushka’s first tryst with horror in the real sense though she played a ghost in her last film, Phillauri.

Anushka Sharma captured the imagination of the country with her bridal avatar. Now she’s back to business and this eerie look is a change that her fans would look forward to fervently after an overdose of mush.

Anushka’s first excursion as a producer was NH10 which she followed up with Phillauri.

Pari releases on March 2. The official Twitter handle stated: “Sweet dreams guys... #HoliWithPari (sic).”

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
