If you’re still in shock from the traumatic Season 5 finale of the Game of Thrones, we’re here to help you be mentally prepared for what’s next. Check out these predictions for Season 6. You know you want to!
Prediction No.1- The Future of Sansa and Reek
The Season 5 finale showed Sansa Stark and Reek aka Theon Greyjoy jumping off the battlements of Winterfell. Chances of them surviving are high since they fell into a pile of snow. Here’s what might happen to them next:
1. They could be captured by the Boltons and tortured even more at the hands of Ramsey.
2. They run into Sansa’s well wishers Brienne and Podrick.
3. They either head to the Wall, since Sansa doesn’t know about Jon Snow’s death, or to the Greyjoy stronghold in the Iron Islands.
Prediction No.2 - Cersei’s Walk of Shame
After a torturous period in prison where she almost lost her sanity and after a horrifying walk of shame, Cersei finally reached the castle and was picked up by Robert Strong who has vowed not to speak till all her enemies are dead.
1. Even after reaching the castle, Cersei still has to go through the trial. This is more likely to be like Tyrion’s trial flipped over. In that case who will fight Robert Strong?
2. Considering the way she was treated, Cersei may want to annihilate the High Septon and the rest of his rag-tag King’s Landing militia, especially when she has Robert Strong by her side. It will be interesting to see how the current Hand of the King, Kevan Lannister – also the father of Lance Lannister – reacts to this situation.
3. Myrcella Lannister was poisoned by Ellaria Sand. How will Cersei and Jamie react to that? Does this mean war with House Martell?
Prediction No. 3 - The Mother of Dragons and the Khalasar
When Drogon refused to take Daenerys back to Meereen, she realised that they were back in Vaes Dothrak and is surrounded (may be captured) by the Khalasar headed by Khal Jhaqo.
To add them to her army of the Unsullied –
1. She might have to marry Khal Jhaqo – similar to what happened with Khal Drogo in season 1– but with a twist.
2. Could win them over with Drogon after he recovers. This definItely will not be in episodes 1 or 2.
3. Once Daario Naharis and Jorah Mormont find her, the three of them could figure out a way to unite the Dothraki soldiers with her army of the Unsullied.
By far, the most shocking moment from all five seasons combined is Jon Snow’s death – far more than the Red Wedding or Oberyn Martell’s death – and at par with Ned Stark’s beheading. Audiences gawked in horror as Snow lay in a puddle of blood, eyes wide open.
The one question on everyone’s mind? Where was Ghost and why hadn’t he come to Jon Snow’s rescue? Also, teary viewers across the world moaned – all men must NOT die!
1. With Jon Snow gone, Alliser Thorne and the other crows are not capable of guarding The Wall. The Wlidlings could take over The Wall in an internal battle or Season 6 might show The Wall coming down at the hands of the White Walkers. That will be a sad but mesmerising visual spectacle.
2. According to the prophecy recounted by Melisandre, Azor Ahia – a mystical leader from the past – will be reborn to save Westeros. She thought Stannis was Azor Ahai but clearly she was wrong because he is dead. Now that she is at The Wall and will get to know about Jon Snow’s death, she will realise Jon Snow is the true Azor Ahai. We might see magic in the resurrection of Jon Snow (just like Beric Dondarrion of the Brotherhood).
3. In a very, very bizarre scenario Jon Snow’s body could somehow end up North of The Wall and he may join the White Walker army. How crazy would that be?
There are a few characters who haven’t appeared in the T.V show yet, but are established characters in the book. Season 6 could see a few of them come to life.
1. The Greyjoys were not a part of Season 5. We could see a certain Greyjoy becoming a part the next season. Especially when the programme makers are/were looking for a man in his 40’s or 50’s to play a notorious pirate. This points to only one eventuality – Euron Greyjoy will be a part of Season 6. Considering Euron Greyjoy is the only man who walked the Valyrian ruins and came back alive and also found a horn that controls dragons, the show is surely moving towards more edge-of-the-seat moments.
2. According to a Vanity Fair article, a casting call (that somehow got leaked) included, a clever boy who seems large for his age, a 12-year-old boy with brown hair and blue eyes, and a 7-year-old boy with dark brown hair, narrow face and green eyes. This could mean Season 6 will show a young trio of Ned Stark, Brandon Stark and Robert Baratheon or Benjen Stark. This we suspect will happen through the vision of Bran Stark who has no role to play in Season 5.
Let’s have a show of hands from those of you who expected the fifth season of the Game Of Thrones series to end on a sweet note. Well, didn’t you learn anything from Season 3? This show doesn’t believe in happy endings! Period. It’s routine for the author George RR Martin to excite the audience with an intriguing plot and then just pull the floor out beneath our feat in the books. Writers of the TV show DB Weiss and David Benioff have clearly taken a leaf out of the same book.
