Shah Rukh Khan, who plays his superstar self as Aryan Khanna in his upcoming film Fan, confesses that several shots in his new film’s teaser have been borrowed from his most iconic scenes from some of his older cult classics. You won’t be seeing the exact same scenes being plugged in, but a new take on them. Shah Rukh reveals the exciting bits of this idea himself-
There are dialogues from my previous films, which we have revisited in this film. We have reshot all the clips again as Aryan Khanna. Maneesh ne phir se woh recreate kiya hai.- Shah Rukh Khan, Actor
What we really want to know is which dialogues have they chosen. But king Khan knows how to keep the suspense going. Although he does let out half the cat from the bag.
There’s one from Baazigar, the one where I say, ‘15 saal se jo khoon meri maa ki ankhon mein aansu banke behta raha…’- Shah Rukh Khan
SRK’s fans are over the moon about not only seeing their favourite actor in his all new avatar in Fan, but also about him playing a double role after a long time. But redoing something that’s been labelled ‘iconic’ is never easy. Shah Rukh reveals what the Fan team would tell him quite often during filming-
Woh Shah Rukh Khan waali baat nahi aayi. Aapki ankhon mein woh nahi aaya hai jo tab aaya tha.- Shah Rukh Khan
You see, playing Shah Rukh isn’t a cakewalk even for Shah Rukh himself. While one is yet to see if the much awaited film will taste success or failure at the box office, we do know that SRK already considers it to be one of his favourites.
I always tell people that there will be five films which I will show my kids after 20 years, and Fan will be one of those films. I don’t know about the genre, the box office returns, but for me as an actor, I am very proud of this film.- Shah Rukh Khan
My guess is that ‘Kkkkkk...Kiran’ from Darr (1993) and ‘Senorita’ from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) will also make it to SRK’s list of dialogues being recreated in Maneesh Sharma’s Fan. What’s your guess?
