Imtiaz Ali has taken it upon himself to get Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma fall in love at first sight with his new film titled The Ring.
This time round, we hope Anushka sees rab in Shah Rukh’s eyes a little earlier than what it took her in their first outing together in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Remember how it took Taani almost 3 hours, several songs and costume changes before she realised that she actually loved her simple and boring hubby, Surinder Sahni? This after Surinder goes to the length of changing his appearance and attitude to come out looking cool as Raj.
When Raj finally confesses his love for a much married Taani, he also adds that nothing needs to change between them, they could remain just good friends. Really!?
Jab Tak Hai Jaan
And this other time when Anushka gets interested in SRK, she oh-so-unfortunately gets friend zoned by the silent and brooding army man who flirts only with danger in Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
While ishq brewed between Khan and Katrina Kaif, the bubbly miss Sharma could only sob in a lonely little corner. She told him,” Tumhare jaisa meri generation mein toh milega nahi…” to which Shah quipped, “Dialogue toh tum mere jaise bolti ho, mere jaise ishq mat kar lena...” Ouch!
The Ring
And finally SRK and Anushka come together again for filmmaker Imtiaz’s The Ring.
We hear that in Imtiaz’s quirky love story, SRK plays a Punjabi tour guide and Anushka plays the part of a Gujarati girl, for which she is taking diction lessons too. The duo will be travelling to Budapest by the end of the month and that’s where the fireworks will fly.
Imtiaz has a knack of making his characters travel the world, so by the end, they know where they have arrived, metaphorically and literally. We hope that Shah Rukh and Anushka get third time lucky and board the Love Train this time round, just like Raj and Simran.
