Sanjay Dutt aka Munnabhai is a free man now and we can’t wait for his big comeback to Bollywood. Good friend Raju Hirani is already working on his biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor, and it seems Bollywood will welcome him with open arms. Warna Circuit hai na!
We are happy Sanju is back. He has served his term and he is going to come back and play his second innings. Indians are famous for scoring well in the second innings. I’m sure he will rock it. I look forward to his biopic and also to starting Munna Bhai 3 with him very soon.Rajkumar Hirani, Filmmaker
Sanjay Dutt goes back a long way with filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Subhash Ghai, and who better to direct a film around the 55 year old actor’s tumultuous life.
There is no easy walk to freedom, my friends. I am here because of the support of my family and friends.Sanjay Dutt, Actor
Before he went to jail, Dutt had successfully transformed his on-screen image of the misguided young man with a history of drugs and violence in Yodha and then the gangster of Khalnayak, and later Vaastav, to the endearing and goofy Munna Bhai MBBS. Dutt has a lot of acting left in him, that he can finally get back to now.
He was a very nervous person in the last 8-10 years. It was showing in his work. Not anymore. He will be relaxed, ready to give his best to the industry.Sajid Khan, Filmmaker
Producers will be keen to sign him on for the kind of roles that Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor have been doing. The Dutt name still has plenty of weight. The third part of the hit Munnabhai franchise apart, there is buzz suggesting that Subhash Ghai might cast Dutt in the remake of the 90s hit Khalnayak. Wife Maanyata has reportedly signed Prabhu Deva as director for a home production with Dutt in the lead. And of course, there is Siddharth Anand’s tentatively-titled Bang Bang 2, for which Dutt is expected to start shooting in summer.
Ace directors Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Vidhu Vinod Chopra also believe that Sanju baba will come back to films, stronger than ever.
It’s very rare not to lose hope in a dark cell. I am certain nothing can stop him now.Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Filmmaker
