These days, devising a film’s promotion strategy is almost as difficult as making a whole film. While only film posters were used for promotion earlier, now a first-look of an upcoming flick comes with various hashtags and an eye-catching teaser.
The process starts with a dialogue promo and moves on to Boomerang, Snapchat, Dubsmash, title track and then finally comes the most-awaited trailer. And it does not end there. The real game of promotions has just began.
Marketing experts are hired to take advice on unique ways to sell the film before the release. Here are some of the films that were promoted in the most hatke style.
‘Ghajini’
While promoting his film Ghajini, Aamir Khan got a Ghajini makeover done for the staff of big cinema halls across the country.
‘Daawat-e-Ishq’
Without caring much for their diet, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra travelled to different cities across India to eat their favourite dishes. Aditya played a chef in the film.
‘Ra-One’
Shah Rukh Khan spent the longest time in promoting his film Ra-One. Did you know the promotions started about a year before the release of the film? And Shah Rukh also launched games related to the film for kids.
