Qandeel Baloch was previously in the news when her posts with controversial selfies and videos with Mufti Abdul Qawi went viral. According to The Express Tribune, following the incident, she had asked the government to provide her with security after claiming she was receiving death threats from the cleric.

I am getting life threatening phone calls from Mufti Abdul Qawi, my life is constantly in danger and it is the duty of the government to protect my life and to provide me with security. I have decided to file an FIR if the situation persists.
Qandeel told The Express Tribune

Mufti Qawi’s membership was suspended from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, as well as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf after the photos and videos went viral.

Qandeel also made bold comments about the cleric’s behaviour towards her, the reason for which she posted that selfie. She also said that she had not apologised to him for posting the same.

I have unveiled a man who was leading the people towards ignorance in the name of Islam. I will continue to unveil this hypocrite face of religious clerics who are defaming our religion and country. This is why I took selfies with Mufti Sahab. He also said that you must forget Imran Khan as he is 65-years-old and live with me. I am only 50-years-old. We will not make public our nuptial agreement.

Referred to as the ‘Kim Kardashian’ of Pakistan, Qandeel claimed the cleric had asked her about her choice of cigarette and drink leading her to believe that “he would trap her.”

Qawi was made fun of on Facebook when pictures with the starlet surfaced of the cleric pouting and video where he is saying that he would guide her for she had become his student.

The 25-year-old’s real name is Fouzia Azeem who eloped with her high school sweetheart in 2004. She began her career as a bus hostess and later became a model.

Although, she is bullied by misogynistic minds online, she is popular among the youth for her bold avataar.
