Priyanka Chopra might sound videshi in Quantico but her producer avatar is bringing out her desi knack for storytelling. After debuting with a Bhojpuri film, film producer Priyanka Chopra is releasing her next regional project titled Ventilator. The Marathi comedy stars Ashutosh Gowariker, a filmmaker who started out as an actor in Bollywood.
Interestingly, Ventilator boasts of a strong ensemble cast featuring Boman Irani, Sukanya Kulkarni, Usha Nadkarni and Rahul Solapurkar among others. The comedy family drama reportedly has 116 Marathi actors and is being helmed by Rajesh Mapuskar (of Ferrari Ki Sawari fame).
It is also interesting to see Ashutosh Gowariker back on screen after a long time. You might remember him in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Chamatkar. He also featured in several TV shows in the late 80s like Circus and CID.
Ventilator is all set to be screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival.
The film revolves around an ailing senior member of a family, who is put on the ventilator just a few days before the Ganpati festival, leading to various degrees of speculation, panic and comic moments amongst his family members and village folk.
While Priyanka’s busy with Quantico in the US, her mum Madhu Chopra is deeply involved with the workings of their production house Purple Pebble Pictures.
