1. 5 Arrested for Destroying ‘Padmavati’ Rangoli Post Deepika’s Tweet
This angry tweet by Deepika Padukone on 18 October addressed to I&B minister Smriti Irani got the right result. According to reports, the Gujarat Police have arrested 5 men in Umra police station on Thursday for destroying the Padmavatirangoli made by an artist in a mall in Surat.
According to the Surat Commissioner of Police, Satish Sharma, 4 of the men belong to the Karni Sena while one of them belong to the VHP. The arrest has been made under various sections of Indian Penal Code including 141, 149 (unlawful assembly), 451 (trespassing) and 427 (mischief causing damage).

3. Aamir Reveals Why He Refused ‘2.0’ Despite a Call from Rajinikanth
Shankar’s 2.0 is the most expensive Indian film ever made till date. With an estimated budget of over Rs 400 crore, the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer is being shot in 3D and is scheduled for a 2018 release.
Not many know that this sequel to Robot was first offered to Aamir Khan when Rajinikanth couldn’t do it due to health reasons. However, in a recent interview to Komal Nahta, Aamir revealed why he turned the film down. The Dangal actor states that he knows that the film will be biggest hit and will break box-office records across all languages, but he still didn’t take up the film.
Rajini sir was himself feeling that I am not well, and he told Shankar, please request Aamir. Rajini sir called me up and said please do the film. I think it’s a superb script and it’s going to do very well. But whenever I used to shut my eyes, I used to see Rajini sir in that role, I could not see myself. 4. ‘Mersal’ Rakes In Rs 43 Crore Worldwide on Its Opening Day
Action-thriller Mersal, starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay has broken, and gone ahead to create a few box-office records following its release on Diwali. According to industry tracker Ramesh Bala, Atlee Kumar’s Mersal has earned a whopping Rs 31.50 crore in India itself. Including the worldwide collections, the movie has managed to make Rs. 43.50 crore, all within the matter of a few days.

5. Lena Headey and Lupita Nyong’o Accuse Harvey of Sexual Harassment
Lena Headey of Game of Thrones fame has also spoken up about sexual advances made by Harvey Weinstein. In a series of tweets, the actor describes an incident at Venice Film Festival where she was promoting her film, The Brothers Grimm,produced by his company, Miramax.
Speaking about the incident, Lena writes how “powerless” she felt.
Oscar-winning actor, Lupita Nyong’o, in a New York Times op-ed gave a chilling encounter of how Harvey tried to get her into his bedroom on the pretext of a “massage”.
