A few weeks ago, Priyanka Chopra took to the famous American celebrity talk show The Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about how she is in the midst of producing and starring in a feature based on the popular Netflix documentary series Wild Wild Country. The series chronicled Indian spiritual guru Bhagwan Rajneesh aka Osho, his assistant Ma Anand Sheela and their followers in the Rajneeshpuram community in Oregon, USA. Delving more into this upcoming project, PC has now revealed that the idea of the biopic was actually Barry Levinson’s who approached the Quantico star to be a part of it.
According to a report published by Mid-day, American director Barry Levinson and his team have been working on the idea of a feature film for a few years now before they decided to approach Priyanka Chopra and get her on board as an actor as well as a producer.
Considering the depth of the project, Priyanka also admitted that there’s still time before the team actually starts filming as there’s a lot of research that is required. With a focus on Ma Anand Sheela, the film will take us through her life both in India and in Oregon, US.
But until then, Priyanka seems to have enough on her plate. She is currently writing a book and working on a YouTube web series.
