If you don’t believe in climate change, Leonardo DiCaprio is here to show you how real the threat is. Academy award winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens, together with the environmentalist actor, presents the world’s biggest crisis at hand with Before The Flood, a riveting account of human induced climate change.
The actor spoke about the film recently and explained why it’s time for the human race to get serious about the damage it’s causing the planet.
Climate change is the most critical and urgent problem facing our world today, and it must be a top issue for voters this election day. Fisher and I set out to make a film that not only educates people about the challenges we face if we fail to act, but one which also shows the solutions we can implement if we can find the political will to do so. We need leaders not only in the United States, but across the globe, who believe in the science of climate change and who have the courage to take a stand for our planet. Bringing this film to college campuses is a key component to engaging young voters to hold our leaders accountable.Leonardo DiCaprio, Actor and Environmental Activist (as reported by Hollywood Reporter)
In the film’s trailer, Leonardo is on a mission to understand the reality of the biggest threat our world faces today and speaks to scientists, journalists, photographers, environmental experts as well political leaders from around the world to tell the story of our journey to the point of no return.
The documentary film will be in theatres on 21 October and will also air globally on the National Geographic Channel on 30 October.
