Only Much Louder (OML), the organisers of the NH7 Weekender music festival, have always projected it as the “Happiest Music Festival” -- and also safe for women.
Vijay Nair, the CEO of OML, has said that since its inception, NH7 has tried to provide a safe space for women, free from harassment. He went a step further to state that before every edition of the festival, they will put out a video aimed at getting more people to speak up against all forms of harassment. Here’s the video they’ve released ahead of the fest’s Pune edition, which starts on Friday.
Nair also stated that every year, dozens of men are thrown out of venues for misbehaving with women. He said that security teams are promptly present at the scene of the incident, if any occurs, to ensure women’s safety.
The entire purpose of the video is to highlight such incidents and help improve the quality and standards of festivals -- so that they become zero-incident zones, apart from already being zero-tolerance zones.
