Pyarelal Wadali, of Sufi Set Wadali Brothers Fame Passes Away

The Wadali Bros lent their voices to Bollywood tracks like ‘Aye Rangrez Mere’ from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’.

Ustad Pyarelal Wadali the younger brother from the duo that comprised the Sufi set, Wadali Brothers passed away in Amritsar at the age of 75.

He was admitted to the Fortis Escorts Hospital on Thursday, 8 March.

Along with the elder brother Ustad Puran Chand Wadali, late Pyarelal was proficient in styles like Kaafian, ghazal and bhajan.

Musicians from Guru Ki Wadali in Amritsar, they lent their voices to Bollywood tracks like Aye Rangrez Mere (Tanu Weds Manu; 2011) and Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi (Mausam; 2011). They made their debut in Bollywood with songs written by Gulzar for the movie Pinjar.

The brothers started their journey as bhajan singers at Harballah temple in Jalandhar.

Pyarelal Wadali's remains will be reportedly taken to the brothers' native village of Wadali Dogran, where the followers can pay their last respects.
