Fitoori girl, Plabita Borthakur answers some questions. She even hums the tune with music composer Kingshuk Chakravarty on the guitar.
Composed by musician Kingshuk Chakravarty, Fitoori is the newest single that has hit the internet as it has been sung by actor (and now singer) Plabita Borthakur. Fitoor means passion and madness, and the song, Fitoori aims to celebrate the passion in every woman, hence it was released on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2018.
The Lipstick Under My Burkha actor released the song as a salute to women across the globe, to celebrate the quirks, the madness, the love that women bring across into the world in their crazy, unique and mad ways.
In her debut film, Plabita Borthakur essayed the role of Rehana Abidi - a fresher in college who sews burkhas for her family business. As she is forced to wear a burkha by her family, she wears make-up and takes off the burkha in college where she acquires a bit of freedom. In college, she transforms into a jeans-wearing singer.
Fitoori
Chup meri mutthi mein
Titli reh gayi
Unkahi woh poori chitthi reh gayi
Aaina mein aks mera rootha reh gaya
Kahaniyon mein kissa mera jhootha reh gaya
Kab talak kab talak
Main khud ko jodoon
Kab talak kab talak
Main khud ko todoon
Main poori poori aadhi
Main aadhi aadhi poori
Main zara fitoori
Main zara fitoori
Dhoop meri mutthi mein
Geeli reh gayi
Bin bujhi si maachis ki
Teeli ho gayi
Kaagzon pe naksha
Mere khwabon ka bana
Purja purja
Mera sapna ho gaya
Kab talak kab talak
Main khud ko jodoon
Kab talak kab talak
Main khud ko todoon
Main poori poori aadhi
Main aadhi aadhi poori
Main zara fitoori
Main zara fitoori
