1. Producers of Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Quantico’ Issue an Apology

In the recent episode of Quantico S3, The Blood of Romeo, we see Priyanka Chopra foiling a terrorist plot by Indian nationalists pretending to be Pakistanis and attempting a nuclear attack on Manhattan. Their ulterior motive is to blame the neighbouring country. The show that aired on 1 June drew the flak of a section of Indian viewers who believed that the episode maligned the country.

ABC Studios, the executive producers of the show issued an apology:

“Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone. The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, most of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series.”
