Forget the romance angle or the revenge story , Kaabil is basically a father's love for his only son! Rakesh Roshan, this time donning the producer's hat is at it again – a PPT presentation showcasing his dear beta's various talents.

That Hrithik can act and emote is no surprise. But tragically, the film’s climax is no surprise and can be seen from a mile away. So sadly, Kaabil becomes a long and tedious journey rarely coming together.

Hrithik Roshan plays a blind man who falls In love with a blind girl over a blind date and eventually spends the rest of his time trying to fight a blind to justice system. No I’m not making fun of blind people but the plot puns get to us after a point! The narrative is subsumed by the overarching theme of revenge and while there are moments when director Sanjay Gupta manages to get the dark and depressing tone right, the forced inclusion of songs leaves it devoid of the kind of sincerity a film like this should ideally have.

Great pains have been taken to put together an ensemble cast where no one is allowed to overshadow the Roshan khandaan ka Chirag. While Ronit Roy does a decent job playing the resident evil politician, Rohit Roy is a clear miscast and Yami Gautam is totally forgettable.

Hrithik and Shahrukh don't just share the same release date of their films, Raees and Kaabil both unwittingly share the 70's Hindi blockbuster film hangover. While the former manages to do it with far greater flair and SRK's unapologetic swag, Kaabil looks a tad stale and the story is told in the most obvious and uninspired fashion. I give the film an average 2.5 QUINTS out of 5. Also, wait for it to come on TV.
