Annoyed readers of film reviews have decided to take things into their hands by starting a Change.org petition against film critics who have panned Suicide Squad.
As the film prepares to hit theatres globally on 5 August, it’s reviews do not have very comforting things to say to DC fans. The movie has been panned for being sexist, for trying too hard, and for being an amalgamation of disjointed elements thrown in together, so on and so forth.
Predictably enough, Team DC did not take it well and decided to respond by starting a petition against Rotten Tomatoes. The petition demands that the website be taken down for giving negative reviews to DC movies.
It reads as follows:
We need this site to be shut down because It’s Critics always give The DC Extended Universe movies unjust Bad Reviews, Like
1- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 2016
2- Suicide Squad 2016
and that Affects people’s opinion even if it’s a really great movies. [sic]
The petition has received over 13,000 signatures so far. It is also followed by a disclaimer, of sorts, which clarifies the aim of the petition:
A petition definitely won’t shut down the site. The aim of the petition is to deliver a message to the critics that there are a lot of people disagree with their reviews.
